Gratitude

Happy to be back to my blog (again)!

Below is a post from last year (26 Mar ’19) that I posted on my site ThisFantasticLife.com. As I re-read it I am reminded of how good I have it and to practice gratitude daily. I am lucky to have this life and I am for every minute I have with me family and friends.

As I was enjoying our trip to Bend, and Mt Bachelor I read a friend’s post about all the things she can’t do anymore (due to a health problem) and how she handles that and finds new satisfying pursuits. It hit me again how incredibly lucky I am

While I don’t want to dwell on the past, I also don’t want to lose sight of being grateful every single day. I was lucky enough, despite having a massive stroke, to not only survive but to thrive again. I can snowboard, snowshoe, hike, ride horses, go to workouts at the gym, ride my bike – everything I was doing before my stroke.

My experiences have led me to add yoga and meditation into my routines. I believe both have contributed to my current well-being.

Yoga has helped me re-gain my balance and increased my strength in a way I could not imagine. Mediation has given me peace and reminds me to be present, focusing on one task at a time and making the most of this fantastic life!

We all have our own setbacks, problems and issues; acknowledge and embrace them along with the feelings that come with them then work to move on to better things. These setbacks and issues combine with all the good stuff to make us the awesome humans we are!
